The SQL Server database is designed with key data encrypted to protect personal data from being viewed by unauthorized eyes by masking some data fields on screen, including social security numbers or other sensitive information. The database is also designed with an audit trail history feature that captures changes made to the data and indicates who made them. This gives you the unique ability to compare old value to new values, which can be useful when trying to piece together a sequence of events. The database's design and technology easily scales to tens of millions of accounts and thousands of concurrent users. In the future, Cogent may also be ported to use Oracle®, Sybase® and DB2®.
